The Milo Arts building was constructed in a series of additions. The original section was built in 1894, before the village of Milo was annexed to Columbus. The first addition added eight rooms in the 1920s. An additional eight rooms were added in the 1950s. This gradual process resulted in a unique blend of architectural features, as the brick and stone of the late 19th century were combined with the steel and concrete of the twentieth.
